Before you start the preparation for an exam, it is a must that you are well aware of the pattern of the exam and syllabus. It will give you a right perception of the paper that you are appearing for and put you on the right track for your preparation.

RBI Grade B Selection Procedure:

The Selection procedure of RBI Grade B Officer for the year 2017 will be done through online examination, consisting of following stages –

  • Phase I Exam (Preliminary)
  • Phase II Exam (Mains)
  • Interview

RBI Grade B Officer Interview (Phase III) – Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III of Phase II exam. The interview will carry around 50 marks.

There is also a sectional as well as overall RBI Grade B cut off at the two stages of the selection process.

RBI Grade B Officer 2022 (General) Salary, Perks, and Emoluments:

RBI Grade B Officer is one of the most prestigious jobs in public sector in India. Every year more than 1 lakh persons compete for around 150-200 posts in a three-stage process. RBI is very liberal in paying Perks and Emoluments for even smallest of expenses. Total cost to company (CTC) pays package accounts to be around 13 lacs in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi etc.

About The Exam:

  • The pay scale of Selected Candidates, as mentioned in the notification is Rs. 35,150/- p.m. in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400 applicable to Officers in Grade B and they will also be eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance as per rules in force from time to time. At present, initial monthly Gross emoluments are approximately Rs. 67,933/-(approx.).

 

  • Likewise in RBI Grade B Officer, Highly qualified candidates can also apply for advance increments in interview bio-data form. Also one can get two additional increments for clearing JAIIB and CAIIB exam, one for each.

 

  • Dearness allowances (DA): DA of 113% of the basic salary of each employee. DA is revised to 125% after the 7 central pay commissions.

 

  • House Rent Allowances (HRA): HRA is given to the officers who are living in other towns or cities and not in their hometown. A Grade B Officer generally gets 2/3 BHK flat depending on the availability in the city. In case One has been not allotted a flat, RBI provides approx Rs. 70000 for that in Mumbai and accordingly in other cities.

 

  • Conveyance allowance (CA): Conveyance allowance is paid on the basis of the declaration by you. At the Mumbai center, the amount is additional 14000 in hand.
Note:- 30 liters extra petrol for all those living in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai or Bangalore.
  • Medical allowances (MA): Medical bills if declared can be reimbursed. This allowance is valid for the dependable of the employee as well. The Annual reimbursements of Medical approx- Rs 4000.and also free dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment/hospitalization as per eligibility.

 

  • Education allowances: Not all, but selected officers receive education allowances for their kids. The Annual reimbursements of education allowances up to Rs. 4000/per month.

 

  • Leave Fare Concession Travel (LFC): One of the best perks of RBI is LFC Travel allowance. Once in two years for self, spouse and eligible dependents. Bank provides around Rs 107000 per person for this.

 

  • Bank Loan Facility: As per a recent 7th central pay commission revision, RBI has declared provisions for loans in a consolidated manner. Officers can get loans and advances at a much cheaper rate for Housing, Vehicle, and Computers etc. and as per the bank’s policies.

 

  • Briefcase Allowances: BA is drawn by Grade A and B level officers. The Annual reimbursement of Briefcase is approx Rs- 7000/-. They can reimburse the price of the briefcase in every three years.

 

  • Grade Allowance: 2250 for Grade B officer starts after confirmation (end of probation).

 

  • Special Allowance: 2500 for Grade B officer starts after confirmation (end of probation).

 

  • Pension: Pension is a common thing that every government employee draws after retirement.

 

  • RBI also provides employees with Sodexo meal.

 

  • Apart from the given perks, there is an Interest-free festival advance, Newspaper, telephone charges, book grant, Furnishing of Residence Allowance, Life Insurance Coverage, Medical Insurance, and Educational Leaves etc. as per eligibility.

The bank has decided that in Phase-II of the online examination, the Paper-III will consist of only one subject i.e Finance and Management. Whereas, the other optional subjects ‘Economics’ and ‘Statistics’ have been withdrawn. It is from last year, RBI has introduced Computer Based Test comprising of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions and in two phases-I and II. However, there is a slight change this year in Phase-II while the other criteria and scheme remain the same. Check below:

RBI Officers Examination Scheme:

(i) The examination will consist of two phases, viz. – Phase-I & Phase-II followed by an interview.

 

(ii) Phase-I examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. There are four modules under this phase.

 

(iii) Phase-II examinations will consist of three papers in MCQ pattern (except Paper-I) – viz. Paper-I on English (writing skills); Paper-II – Economic & Social Issues and Paper-III – (optional subjects) – Finance & Management.

 

(iv) Candidates will be required to write all the papers online.

 

(v) Only successful candidates of Phase-I will appear for Phase-II examination on a later date.

 

(vi) Based on the results of Phase-II examinations candidates will be shortlisted for interview.

 

(vii) Final selection will be through merit lists which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase-II (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III) and Interview.

 

(Viii) There is also a provision for negative marking.
